The Social Skills Group is a weekly, hour-long therapeutic group that meets on Tuesdays at 4:30 pm for children ages 8 to 12. Our social skills group focuses on addressing social difficulties in children, including:
making and maintaining friendships
coping with anger and anxiety in social settings
sharing and taking turns
Social skills groups can help kids learn and practice important life skills. They can help kids learn conversational, friendship and problem-solving skills. They can also be useful in teaching kids to control their emotions and understand other people’s perspectives.
All prospective Social Skills members must complete an intake prior to attending. Registration is also required. Call (219) 663-6353 for insurance verification and to schedule an intake appointment. Mention that you're interested in the Social Skills group.
