About Crown Counseling

Crown Counseling was founded in Crown Point, IN, by Suzy Bonaventura-Krischke in 2008. Crown started off as a small counseling practice, but since opening, has grown to be one of the largest mental health agencies in Lake County, Indiana. In November of 2015, we opened our new main location at 1308 N Main St. in Crown Point, which has allowed us to further grow and expand.

We offer an array of diagnostic services and therapeutic services in an individual, family, or group settings. We have a staff of skilled therapists, all of whom have a Master's level degree from an accredited learning institution, who are available by appointment and offer a multitude of therapeutic modalities to fit client needs. We also offer several case management services ranging from parenting education and supervised visitation to mentoring and tutoring. All of our services are overseen by our clinical supervisors and our staff psychologist.

We accept Medicaid, Medicare and most major health insurances. We also provide financial assistance for lower income individuals and families. We're always accepting new clients.

Our New Patient (Intake) Process

Please contact the office at (219) 663-6353 or email us at crowncounselingservices@yahoo.com to explore our services. Once you leave a message or email for our Intake Coordinator, you will be contacted within 2 business days. Please note that due to COVID-19 and limited staff, this time frame could take longer and we appreciate your patience. During your conversation with the Intake Coordinator, you will discuss services, availability, and she will obtain your insurance information to ensure we can adequately meet your individual needs. During this phone call, the Intake Coordinator will either schedule your intake appointment or offer other community resources if we are unable to accommodate your needs. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you. We appreciate your business and look forward to speaking with you.
*Please note that the voicemail and email address for the Intake Coordinator are not an appropriate contact for any emergency services. If you are experiencing an emergency, please contact 911.*

The Lotus Flower

The lotus flower is a thing of great beauty that only grows in muddy, murky waters. Despite the harsh conditions, it climbs, reaching toward the sun, to open its petals one by one. The lotus is a reminder that in this world consumed by fear, and against all odds, we can rely on the strength and willpower we possess, and one by one spread peace and love into the world. We use the lotus flower as our symbol to represent the growth, resilience, and potential that resides inside of each person and their ability to overcome life's obstacles. Like the lotus, we too can persevere through the darkness and the pain in our lives to blossom into our most beautiful self.
